How darling is this little boy reaching for the leaves? This class will introduce you to both thread painting and thread sketching for beginners. In this class you will learn the basics of free motion thread painting to create any design using straight and zigzag stitches. You will also learn how to transfer a design by tracing any image onto fabric. No drawing skill is needed. Additionally, you will learn how to use watercolor pencils for
adding color in selected areas. You may choose from a few designs or bring your own.

| Skill Details: | Beginners are welcome but are expected to be comfortable with basic sewing machine operations. |
| Materials Included: | Includes use of one of our Bernina 400-series classroom machines. |
| Requirements: | A supply list will be shared at least two weeks prior to class. Please bring your rotary cutter and ruler, thread, scissors or snips, pins or clips, and any other basic sewing supplies that you like. |

| Instructor Bio: | Stacey Murren has been quilting for more than 30 years. A long career in higher education led to her passion of teaching a wide variety of quilting techniques and she welcomes beginner to advanced quilters. She attributes her many professional awards to the act of creative quilting. Born and raised in California, each year for the past 30 years she has focused on learning and perfecting quilting techniques from collage, paper piecing, story quilts, memory quilts, appliqué, crazy patch, thread painting, free motion designs, whole cloth trapunto designs, improv designs to fiber art/mixed media. For the last few years, she has also been making and selling her own patterns. Anything is possible in class with Stacey, and that will become apparent through the broad array of classes she offers. |
