Introduction to Free Motion Quilting On Your Domestic Sewing Machine with Tara

Learn all the basics of free motion quilting in this fun 3-hour beginner level class. We'll showcase many different designs, various ways to transfer/mark your design, and a few no-mark designs that work well for background or all-over quilting. We'll also cover machine set-up, thread, tools and posture to ensure you are comfortable and confident in your free motion journey. This is also a great opportunity to discuss design options and brainstorm how to quilt your project.

| Skill Details: | Beginners are welcome but are expected to be comfortable with basic sewing machine operations. |
| Materials Included: | Includes use of one of our Bernina 400-series classroom machines. |
| Requirements: | Sewing machine in good working order, extended base/bed if your machine has one, darning or free motion foot, thread, fabric, batting, safety pins, scissors/snips, pencil, chalk or erasable fabric pen, sharp new sewing machine needle (size 12), continuous line stencil. *If you have an older machine whose feed dogs do not drop, please bring your cover plate. A supply list will be e-mailed approximately two weeks prior to class. If you don't receive it or sign up within the two weeks prior to class please call the store.
