Applique Bird (Needle Turn and Freezer Paper)
Saturdays, July 22 and 29 | 10am - 1pm
Learn or perfect your applique skills while making this stunning bird in a planter mini quilt with Stacey. She will teach you both needle turn and freezer paper applique methods, and help you finish the entire project. This project works well with scraps and Stacey will also coach you on adding embellishments, if desired, to create a truly one-of-a-kind art piece.

| Skill Details: | Beginner quilters are welcome to participate provided they are comfortable with sewing machine operation. Beginners in applique are encouraged to participate! |
| Materials Included: | Pattern and freezer paper templates included. |
| Requirements: | Supply list provided in advance. Please bring your sewing machine (unless borrowing ours), thread, rotary cutter and ruler, scissors or snips, pins, clips, and scrap fabrics. |

| Instructor Bio: | When you learn, teach. When you get, give. I have been quilting for over 30 years while living in California. After working for 28 years at the University of California, Irvine, I have finally been able to retire and spend more time on my passion of making beautiful things. Over the years, I have tried every type of quilt making, paper piecing, memory quilts, appliqu?ing anything and everything, crazy patch, whole cloth trapunto all given away to the special people that come across my life. For the last few years, I experienced the joy of making/seeing my own patterns come to life while using mixed media techniques and creating 3D quilts. I attribute my many professional achievements, awards and creative accomplishments to the act of creative quilting. Perfect training for thinking outside of the block, finding solution to make those quilts come alive. |
