Freeform Summer Mixed Media Landscape Quilt Class with Stacey Murren
Tuesday June 6 and Wednesday June 7 - 10am - 4pm
Create a miniature mixed media art quilt. This class is packed with a variety of mixed media techniques. This miniature quilt is an art form that uses both modern and traditional quilting techniques to create a one of a kind piece. The finished landscape quilt is 9 X 8 inches. This class is packed with methods that will take your quilts to the next level. You will learn to use different types of fabrics such as cheese cloth, satins, silks and even duck cloth. You will learn how to use YLI quilters to highlight rayon/metallic threads and Angelina fibers to create a 3D effect and learn to use basic hand embroidery to add dimension. Learn how to use your domestic machine to free style thread paint to make landscape objects. You will also learn to use all those random left-over threads and yarns to make your very own fabric. We will add puffy paints to add sparkle to clouds. Lastly, we will finish the piece with a creative binding that is fast and fun!
Learn landscape quilting, raw edge applique, hand embroidery, and thread painting while making this stunning miniature summer landscape with Stacey. This is a great way to learn new techniques around mix media quilting. The KIT for this class is included in your registration fee!
