3/5/36 - We had our ribbon cutting ceremony last night and were delighted to meet so many members of the Simsbury community. You can see the ceremony on our Facebook page!
We are now open for business in Simsbury in our permanent location. We look forward to welcoming you six days a week.

2/18/26 - We're almost done with construction in Simsbury and hope to have our final inspections at the end of the week. It was a big job to raise the ceiling, build a bathroom, and replace the floor, but the results are so worth it. We are busy dreaming up what quilts to hang in the front of the shop.
Thanks to everyone on social media who suggested paint colors. You were all right! Our logo tells you that I love all the colors. I decided to go with a rich violet purple (official name is Elderberry Wine from Benjamin Moore) as it brings such warmth to the space and adds a dramatic touch. Keep in mind the photos just have one coat with at least one more and maybe two to go!

2/4/26 - Thank you for a wonderful opening! Thank you to all of you who came out for our opening on Friday, and have visited since then. We are overwhelmed by the reception and filled with gratitude. I was worried no one would show up, so to have 50 people through the front door in the first 15 minutes was a dream come true.

And lastly, thank you to the Cotton Candy Fabrics team, new and old. You all worked so hard to get the new store open, while maintaining our service standards in Brookfield. I truly have the best team ever! I always say Teamwork Makes the Dream Work and you are proof of that!

1/21/26 - We have big news to share today! Our second location in Simsbury will have a soft opening on Friday, January 30th at 11:00am. The store is located at 926 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury Town Shops. The space we are launching in was formerly occupied by Simbsbury Yarn. We'll be there until mid-February as we continue construction on our main store in the same plaza. Join us to see all the gorgeous new fabric, kits and beautiful samples.

1/29/26 - Progress has been made on our new space in Simsbury! Here are some pictures showing the ceiling being raised, the natural light shining through, and a vision coming together. We hope to see you all at the soft opening of Cotton Candy Fabrics Simsbury on Friday January 30th starting at 11am!
1/13/26 - In the classroom we have been stockpiling furniture. Next up is classroom set up which is critical because we have classes on the schedule! You can have a look on our Simsbury calendar but be sure to check back often as we are adding classes every week.
1/13/26 - Construction is well under way in our new second home in Simsbury CT at the Simsbury Town Shops. In the main retail space, the crew has reinforced and framed the ceiling and braced the building to raise the ceiling. This will give us height in the front of the store to hang all the beautiful quilts we have to display.
12/30/26 - Cotton Candy Fabrics is excited to announce that our soon-to-open Simsbury store will participate in the 2026 Super Bowl Shop Hop. So, while we haven't announced an Opening Date yet, we know it will be before February 7, 2026!
We are especially excited as having four stores participate creates an opportunity for a new element in the hop. This year we will help you build a progressive quilt, picking your fat quarters at each stop and receiving the free pattern at the fourth shop you visit. We can't wait to see you so please save the date!

12/19/2026 - Beyond the physical construction, we've also been working on the website and are excited to share that the Simsbury class calendar has been posted with classes beginning in February. Only a few classes are live so far, but more are on the way. Check it out and sign up to learn something new!

12/18/2026 - Construction is in full swing in our new location in Simsbury. All demolition has been done, and the bathroom has been framed. We are so excited to get the space ready for you. Keep up with this page for even more updates coming soon!
Cotton Candy Fabrics is so excited about our new location in Simsbury! Now that construction has begun, we've launched this page to share ongoing updates.
