Sam Donovan will be on hand to provide expert instruction. He will help them select fabric and show them how to cut their pattern and fabric, and how to sew their garment. Lunch and snacks are provided. Pattern and fabric not included.

Being born in June, there have always been two sides to me (more, if I am honest). Gemini is inspired not just by my astrological sign, but by the back and forth I face daily as a designer. With this collection, I give you a 2-in-1 blender. Why choose one background when you can have two? The edge of the center stripe in Gemini can be used to split a block, or even an entire quilt. Then, the light and dark parts of the print become your background fabrics. The two backgrounds can be used to create multi-faceted quilts with a very contemporary feel. I have been experimenting with split backgrounds in much of my recent work, and I’m so excited to have this new blender to show you all the ideas I have for experimenting with this technique.

Having always been drawn to different artists’ renditions of the color wheel, I have long collected reference books and posters on color theory. With Hue, I give you my Giucy Giuce take on the color wheel! When choosing colors for a collection, there’s always a push and pull between bright and gem tones. With Hue, I wanted to go bright and bold - with colors that feel very primary. The collection is truly an ode to color and one I’ve wanted to create for quite some time.
