It's the time of year for last-minute invitations! Birthday parties, weddings, showers, graduations, retirement celebrations, house warming... you name it! The hardest part about juggling all these events is making sure you have a meaningful gift to bring to each one. Here is my favorite quick, easy, and super special solution - Pillowcases!
Everyone uses them, why not make them fun? They are a great way to bring a gift that feels custom made- and doesn't feel like you just grabbed something on your way out the door. These pillowcases are also great for grads going off to college that want to liven up their dorm rooms! Or for a sick loved one who could use some cheer in their hospital/nursing home.
To get you started on the fun of making pillowcases, I have created a step-by-step color photo tutorial and pattern for you to follow... and guess what? It's completely FREE! I even want to introduce you to fun trick to make your pillowcases extra polished & professional- the French Seam. A French seam prevents your pillowcase from having raw edges showing on the inside, and it doesn't require any special machines or tools.
For this pattern, you will need 1 yard of two coordinating fabrics. This will yield 2 finished pillowcases! And once you get the basic technique down, you can add even more fun and customization with trim, embroidery, appliqués, and rick rack!
