Deliciously Simple Placemats
I love working at Cotton Candy Fabrics. My two favorite things are filling orders (wondering what they will make when their items arrive!) and getting to see all the new fabrics as they arrive.  Last week, these two beauties showed up!

I petted them, I looked at them, they were calling my name!  But what to do with them?  My first thought was a lunch bag, but then I found this great tutorial for super easy placements, and I knew I had a winner!

To get my project started, I purchased a half-yard cut of 3 different fabrics.  1/2 yard of the Soup Cans fabric, 1/2 yard of the Heritage Kids fabric, and 1/2 yard of the Red Bandana fabric.  The instructions on the tutorial are great- with lots of pictures, it is very easy to follow along step by the step.  Also, the directions will have you cut 2 placemats at a time!

The tutorial recommends using this wonderful tool, the "Quick Easy Mitered Binding Tool".  This tool makes its so easy to give your placemats a nice, finished look.  And best of all, the tool will soon be available at CottonCandyFabrics.com.

Done!  Two coordinating placemats ready for tonight's dinner!  Now where is that can of tomato soup?

Happy Sewing Everyone!
